FAQ: Everything You Need to Know About Mistake Number Thirteen

Welcome to the FAQ page, where we answer your burning questions (or at least the ones about us). Let’s dive in:


Q: What’s the deal with the number 13?

A: Thirteen might be unlucky for some, but we’ve decided to own it. It’s the magic number behind everything we do—our drops launch on the 13th of every month at 13:13 PM, last for 13 days, and feature 5 unique designs (13 is just one step too many when we are just starting out.. but who knows what the future will hold). Who said 13 couldn’t be lucky?


Q: How often do you release new designs?

A: Every single month! On the 13th at 13:13 PM, we drop 5 limited-edition designs that are only available for 13 days and we stop selling at.. you guessed it! 13:13pm. After that, they’re gone—unless they end up on the Returned Mistakes tab at a discounted price.


Q: What are the design themes?

A: Each month’s designs fall under 5 quirky categories:

  • Tarot Cards
  • Disco
  • Ghouls
  • Cows (yep, cows!)
  • A Written Concept

All of these tie into a larger monthly theme—for example, January’s theme is New Beginnings. Want more details? Check out our blog for the inside scoop each month.


Q: Can I collect all the designs?

A: Absolutely! You can go all-in and grab the full set each month, or mix it up and pick just one or two designs that catch your eye. Either way, you do you, boo.


Q: What happens if I miss a drop?

A: Once the 13-day window is closed, those designs are gone forever... unless someone returns theirs. Keep an eye on the Returned Mistakes tab for discounted goodies that deserve a second chance at love.


Q: What’s your stance on sustainability?

A: We’re not about fast fashion. Every item is printed on demand to avoid waste, and our packaging is as eco-friendlyas possible. Most orders ship plastic-free, with the only exception being framed prints, which we protect with biodegradable bubble wrap.


Q: How do I make a return?

A: If you’ve made a mistake (hey, it happens), email us at hello@mistakenumberthirteen.com with the subject line RETURN + Your Invoice Number. We’ll guide you through the process. Just remember, returns must be unworn, unused, and with tags attached. Check out our Returns Policy for all the details.


Q: Do you offer exchanges?

A: If you’ve ordered the wrong size, we’ll do our best to help. But since our collections are only available for 13 days, exchanges might not always be possible—so double-check that size guide before you buy!


Q: Can I get a refund?

A: Once we’ve received and inspected your return, we’ll let you know if it’s approved. Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. If it’s been more than 13 days since approval and you haven’t seen your refund, drop us a line at mistakenumberthirteen@outlook.com.


Q: What if I live in the EU?

A: If your order is headed to the EU, you’ve got a 14-day cooling-off period to return it—no questions asked. Just make sure it’s in its original condition with tags attached.


Q: Do you ship overseas?

A: Yes, we do! 🌍 However, there will be a delivery cost, which depends on how much you order and where you’re based. Unfortunately, we can’t offer free delivery for customers outside the UK at this stage, but can offer a discount for the more you buy!


Q: How can I spot a fellow Mistaker?

A: Easy—look out for someone rocking a hand-drawn cow, a funky tarot card, or one of our other bold designs. If you see them, give a knowing nod. Mistakers stick together.


Q: Why do my Mistakes smell like vinegar?

Don’t worry, we’re not moonlighting at the local chippy and frying up your Mistakes before sending them out (although imagine the perks). 😏

The truth? It’s all down to the DTG (Direct-to-Garment) printing process. We use a pre-treatment spray to make sure your designs look crisp and stay put, and sometimes it leaves a bit of a vinegar-like smell behind.

The good news? One wash and it’s gone—no lingering scent, just a fresh Mistake ready to wear. So pop it in the wash, and you’re good to go!
